The Registration Process

You have chosen the type of camp you want and the the weeks you like best and checked your online or paper Registration Form for accuracy and you have hit "submit" or put it in the mail. Now you may wonder, "Is that all there is?" or "What do I do next?"  Or, perhaps you've started to read on the website and you've seen the long list of forms that you might need to complete and you're thinking, "Health forms and food forms and med forms, oh my!"  To help you take care of what's necessary, we have created a new checklist to make the entire registration process go more smoothly. Print it if you'd like and we hope it helps. If you do not have access to a printer or if you do not "do" checklists, I'll summarize the process here. First of all:

  • If you plan to pay by check  you must mail a deposit check immediately.

  • If you are requesting Financial Assistance you must send in proof of income immediately.

None of the rest of this process can occur without the completion of this first step. The longer you delay, the higher are the chances that you will not be enrolled in your preferred weeks; they fill quickly.

Secondly, if you want to take advantage of the Early Bird Discount for Day Camp OR Overnight Camp, please pay in full as soon as you can.  The deadline is March 9th, but if everyone waits until that date, you risk missing out on your preferred weeks, especially for Day Camp.

If have opted for our Installment Plan, our monthly payment due dates in 2017 will be March 10, April 7, May 5 and June 9.  All camper fees are due by June 9th. Those campers who are not paid in full by June 9th will lose their spots.

This next step may take some planning ahead. If your child will be staying at Camp Scully overnight at all, even if it's just one night for the Overnight Experience,  NY State Regulations and American Camp Association® Standards clearly state that we must have a physical that is no more than a year old or your child will be unable to attend overnight camp. If your child has not had a physical recently, either to enter this school year or to participate in a sport, make an appointment with your pediatrician now and have the doctor complete the Physician's Exam form when you go. Then, mail, fax or email a copy of it to us (see addresses below).

Day Campers must submit the following forms by June 9th: a Day Camp Release Form and a Health History Form completed by a parent with an up-to-date Immunization Record. (Please note that if your child is a Day Camper who is doing the Overnight Experience you will also need to submit a current Physician’s Exam.)

Overnight Campers (including Overnight Experience Campers) must submit the following forms by June 9th: the Physician’s Exam; an up-to-date Immunization Record; and a Health History Form completed by a parent. If you have been approved for Financial Assistance of any kind, please also complete and submit the SFSP (Summer Food Service Program) Form.

This June 9th deadline is important because it allows our Health Director the time needed to get to know the health needs of every child.  The more the Health Director knows before camp begins, the better we can monitor the health of all campers in our care.  Furthermore, NY State Regulations and American Camp Association® Standards clearly state that we must have a physical that is no more than a year old or your child will be unable to attend overnight camp.

So, the bottom line is this:

ALL FORMS are due by JUNE 9th.

ALL FEES are due by JUNE 9th.
